CONVERSE (Larry Johnson):
Converse and Larry Johnson teamed up in September of 1991. This was a very opportune time for a partnership to begin. Converse's parent company, INTERCO, was coming out of bankruptcy. They wanted to start in a new direction. Fortunately, Larry was the new direction for Converse. During the last three years, two of them have been the most profitable in the history of the company. Grandmama has become their key advertising campaign, having made nine commercials. Grandmama has become an icon to young and old alike. Even though the life expectancy for Grandmama was only 18 months, there is no end in sight.
When Converse decided to come out with a rugged outdoor basketball shoe (Tar Max), Larry was chosen to carry the banner. Larry became the first National Basketball Association (NBA) player to endorse two separate lines of shoes. Larry has made two commercials for Tar Max. In '94-'95, Tar Max will evolve into The Destroyer.
Converse released a new Larry Johnson line of apparel in 1994. Additionally, Converse and TRADEGLOBE Basketballs have created a partnership. This is a line of Converse basketballs sold internationally with LJ being the spokesperson as well.

NIKE (Michael Irvin):
Everyone knows the `swoosh' and Nike. Michael Irvin has been a spokesperson
for Nike throughout his National Football League (NFL) career and will be taken
to a new level in 1994-95 with the making of several new commercials. Michael
endorses Nike's football shoes, gloves, and apparel. Michael has one of the top
shoe contracts in the NFL.
Industry Notes:
*Between 1980 and 1986 Nike's total revenues grew from $270 million
to $1.1 billion.
*Consolidated revenues for 1993 are estimated at $3.9 billion. These
figures make Nike the largest sports and fitness company in the
world.
FILA (Brooks Thompson):
Fila, unlike the other large footwear company, have taken a different approach to their marketing. They have chosen a very select group of 6 people to endorse their shoes. Brooks became one of those select 6 in November 1994.
SIGNATURE ROOKIES (Brooks Thompson, Rodney Dent, Jeff Webster):
Signature Rookies is a new trading card company that emerged in 1994. They signed a large number of the drafted athletes in football and basketball. The athlete's contracts required them to sign a large number or cards and Signature Rookies markets these cards with a guaranteed autograph in each package.
McDONALD'S (Larry Johnson):
McDonald's signed Larry for a Dream Team II promotion in March of 1994. Included in this promotion was the player's likeness for point of purchase, cups and french fry boxes. In the 4th quarter of '94, McDonald's re-signed Larry to appear with Michael Jordan, Larry Byrd, Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller and Shawn Kemp. This contract included player likeness on point of purchase, cups and french fry boxes. It also included commercial spots to air in March of '95.
NBA AUTHENTICS (Larry Johnson):
In 1992, NBA Properties made Larry Johnson one of their three spokesmen for all the licensees of the NBA. Larry is the spokesman for the Authentic line, which encompasses a group of eight licensees whose products are used on the court by the NBA Players and support staff. They are:

Champion USA Official uniforms, warm-ups, practice wear and socks
Nutmeg Mills Official stat crew clothing/sweaters

NBA Properties sales went from $10 million in 1982 to $1.4 billion in 1992.
FLEER CARD COMPANY (Larry Johnson, Michael Irvin):
In 1992, Larry Johnson became the spokesman for Fleer Ultra Cards/Series One. In
Series One there is a subset of 12 cards of which Larry individually signed
2000. These were randomly inserted into packs of cards. Also, in 1994, Larry
became the highlight person for the Dream Team Series.
In 1993-94, Fleer signed Michael Irvin as spokesman for the Fleer Ultra Football Cards Series. Included in this series is Michael's subset of ten cards including 2000 individually signed and randomly inserted.
Fleer is regarded as the top card in basketball, football and baseball.
SPORTS SPECIALTIES (Michael Irvin/Larry Johnson):
Before the `93-`94 season, Sports Specialties, makers of fine headwear, signed Michael Irvin and Larry Johnson to a multi-year agreement as their national spokesmen. Sports Specialties is one of the licensed companies of the NFL.
CLASSIC GAMES (Larry Johnson, Brooks Thompson, Rodney Dent, Jeff Webster):
The trading card industry has changed considerably since Larry Johnson came out in 1991. At that point, there were 7 or 8 non-licensed card companies doing business. Larry signed a non-exclusive contracts with all of those companies. Two years later, Classic Cards has become one of the soul survivors of the non-licensed trading card companies. In 1994-95, they signed rookies Brooks Thompson and Rodney Dent of the Orlando Magic, and Jeff Webster, 2nd round pick of The Miami Heat, to a non-exclusive agreement.
IEM TELECOM (Michael Irvin):
IEM Telecom and Americall are long distance providers that have been in business for 70 years. They sell a service similar to Sprint and AT&T. IEM Telecom is making a strong play towards athletics. They have made Michael Irvin their national spokesperson. The program he promotes is called "Cowboy Calling". It is targeted towards the Cowboy fans in Dallas and across the country. In the near future, we hope to have "NFL Calling", which will incorporate the other 27 NFL cities plus the two expansion areas. In the future, IEM Telecom hopes to move towards the NBA, the National Hockey League (NHL) and Major League Baseball (MLB).
AAI will be involved in securing all of the athletes from these major sports.
COSTACOS BROTHERS (Larry Johnson, Michael Irvin):
Costacos Brothers is one of the largest producers of sports posters. After
you determine what posters are theirs, you realize how much of the market they
control. Larry Johnson
has four Costacos posters. Michael currently has three, with a fourth being
developed at this time. Costacos Brothers is located in Seattle, Washington.
JEFF HAMILTON COATS (Larry Johnson):
Jeff Hamilton is one of the leading manufacturers of leather coats for the Entertainment Industry, NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB. He has made two special edition coats for Larry. The first coat was a gift from LJ to his teammates, thanking them for helping him secure a position on the NBA All-Star Team. The second coat was presented to the NBA Players that participated in his charity game (Starry, Starry Night) benefiting The United Way.
TOMBSTONE PIZZAS (Michael Irvin):
Michael was asked by Tombstone Pizzas to promote a national give-away. Michael signed approximately 1000 footballs for this program. It will be used as tokens to promote their product.
POST HONEYCOMB CEREALS (Larry Johnson):
Post Honeycomb Cereal released a national sales promotion in early `94 involving four NBA Players (Larry, Patrick Ewing, Scottie Pippen, and Hakeem Olajuwon). Included on this cereal box will be an individual picture of each player on 7 million boxes. In each box of cereal, there will be one of the four individual player posters.
Post Honeycomb is a division of Kraft General Foods.
SPORTS ETC. (Larry Johnson):
Sports Etc. is a locally owned activewear company, which has been involved in Larry's basketball camps for the past three years. They are a strong up coming company which we all will see more of in the future. They provide specialty items as well as all areas of activewear. Sports Etc. also has a creative department, which has designed and promoted lines of clothes for the NBA, NBAPA, and MTV, Cross Colours and these various mediums:

TRADEGLOBE BASKETBALLS (Larry Johnson):
Larry is the exclusive spokesman, internationally, for TRADEGLOBE Sports, a Converse licensee. He will be promoting his own line of basketballs including genuine leather, indoor/outdoor, rubber and mini-balls. This company provided all of the 4 million basketballs for Pizza Hut and their NCAA promotion campaign in prior years.
SOUTHWEST AIRLINES (Michael Irvin):
Southwest Airlines has been one of the major sponsors for The Michael Irvin Show for the past two years. They have also done special community involvement projects with Michael.
TELEPHONE WAREHOUSE (Michael Irvin):
Telephone Warehouse has been another one of the major sponsors of The Michael Irvin Show for the past two years. Nelson Roberts, Vice President, has taken special interest in Michael. His company is one of the fastest growing cellular telephone firms in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
NATIONS BANK (Larry Johnson):
Nations Bank has been a sponsor of the Larry Johnson camp series. We hope in the future, they will become one of our main supporters for Larry's youth basketball camps. These camps are at no cost to inner city youth due to the support of corporations like Nations Bank.
FIRST UNION BANK/CHARLOTTE, NC (Larry Johnson):
First Union was the title sponsor for the first ever Larry Johnson NBA-sanctioned celebrity basketball game (Starry, Starry Night) which raised over $100,000 dollars for The United Way of the Carolinas. This game will be an annual event. It showcases some of the stars of the NBA (Stacy Augmon, Tim Hardaway, Scottie Pippen and Alonzo Mourning).
L-STER COOKIES (Larry Johnson):
Vista Bakeries in conjunction with Lance, Inc. has designed and baked a new cookie called the L-ster. Part of the proceeds from sales of each box of cookies will be given to The United Way. This project began in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is groomed to specifically become a national cookie starting in 1994. The L-ster brand will have four different kinds of cookies. The packaging is similar to animal cookies with the back panel of the box being a collector's item featuring pictures of L.J.
JCPENNEY INC. (Larry Johnson):
JCPenney's involvement with the Larry Johnson basketball camp series began in
1993.
Larry was invited to participate in one of their United Way fundraisers at their
National Headquarters in Dallas, Texas. He met with CEO, William Howell and also
provided 1500 autographed posters as well as individually autographed items for
their sales teams. Currently, JCPenney is one of the largest accounts for
Converse Shoes and Larry's line is one of the highest sellers. In the future
JCPenney will become a major sponsor for the Larry Johnson basketball camp
series in Dallas and Charlotte.
BUTTERFINGERS/PLANTERS/DEL MONTE/FRITO-LAY (Larry Johnson):
In 1993, these companies donated product for the youth participants in
Larry's camps.
The last day of camp each camper received a gym bag filled with these products
and
other donated goods.
LOMBARDO'S CLOTHIER (Michael Irvin):
Lombardo's Clothier is the provider for all of the apparel on The Michael
Irvin Show
(television). Lombardo's is located in Dallas. They have become the selected
clothiers
for the Dallas Cowboy and Maverick players. For their sponsorship of Michael's
show, they provide Michael and his co-host all of their clothes on air.
QUARTERBACK CLUB (Michael Irvin):
During the 2nd quarter of 1994, Michael Irvin was asked to join the elite club of quarterbacks, "The QBC." He became the first non-quarterback to join. This is due to his marketability on and off the field.
SCORE BOARD (Michael Irvin):
For the past two years, Score Board, Inc., an exclusive memorabilia company from New Jersey has signed Michael Irvin to an exclusive autograph contract. Other clients of Score Board - Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Shaquille O'Neal, just to name a few.
DREAM TEAM II (Larry Johnson):
Larry Johnson was made co-captain of the world famous Dream Team II for their
journey to the gold medal for the World Championship of basketball. Dream Team
II successfully defended the title of Dream Team I in Toronto, Canada in August
of 1994.

THE ARSENIO HALL SHOW:
Both Michael Irvin and Larry Johnson have been guests of The Arsenio Hall Show. Larry has made two appearances and Michael made one after his Super .Bowl and Pro Bowl appearances.
FAMILY MATTERS:
In early November 1993, Larry Johnson's alter ego, Grandmama, was the featured guest on this ABC sitcom. The episode was written by Jaleel White (Erkel) and produced in their Burbank studios. This was shot in four days in late September '93. This was Larry's first adventure with taping in front of a live studio audience.
CONAN O'BRIEN SHOW:
In November 1994 while in town for their game against New York, Larry Johnson and teammate Muggsy Bogues made an appearance on this late night talk show.
THE MICHAEL IRVIN SHOW:
Michael Irvin has one of the most popular television shows in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. After the Super Bowl victory, the show went into syndication throughout Texas. The show is taped weekly on the set of KDFW-TV Channel 4.and airs on Sundays at 10:00 am.
ESPN II:
Larry Johnson was featured in the initial show kicking off the new ESPN network called ESPN II. It hit cable systems on October 1, 1993. Larry was interviewed live from Dallas. This was a very special honor to be a part of the beginning stages of a new cable network.
NBA INSIDE STUFF:
Larry has made numerous appearances on Inside Stuff, a weekly Saturday morning television show informing fans of the NBA and it's players. Two features have been aired on Larry. The first story was when he first entered the league. The second feature was about his selection to the All-Star team.
SCHAAP TALK:
During the 1992-93 season, Larry was invited to be a guest on Dick Schaap's show. This show focused on the life and times of Larry Johnson and his emergence into the NBA. He is a success on the court, but he also holds an important role in the future of the NBA as an organization.
TEXANS:
Larry Johnson became one of the selected individuals to be interviewed on the
Texans television show. This is a syndicated show aired through out Texas. It is
aired quarterly. The program format involves successful individuals around the
country that have ties to Texas. Three people are interviewed for each show.
Larry's segment focused on his South Dallas roots and his high school days at
Skyline.
COMMERCIALS
NBA PROPERTIES (Larry Johnson):
In late September of 1993, NBA Properties released their first NBA Authentic .Line commercial. Larry Johnson played the main role. This ad shows LJ coming over to pick up a friend to play basketball, which is dressed entirely in authentic gear.

Grandmama, who was originally supposed to last 18 months, has currently
